  • Self motivation begins with empowerment. A person may be motivated by making them empowered. They must be made to feel competent (that they can do the task in hand), aware of the consequences (that the task in hand is worth it), feel confident, given the sense of choice and a sense of community (that they belong and they're not alone). By fulfilling these 4 Cs, an individual may realise self-motivation.

  • Inspiring ☺

  • A very inspiring video that explains the psychology of self-motivation. We must give ourselves the feeling of empowerment and have the belief in whatever we set out to accomplish. A big boost to being motivated is response efficacy and getting constant feedback on the work we do. It is then that we begin to feel a sense of autonomy and choice. The 4 C's are very well explained, which are Competence, Consequence,Choice and Community which help us in staying motivated.

  • why does he remind me of Walter white(Bryan Cranston) from Breaking Bad… Is it only me ?? 😀

  • Im not even motivated to get out of bed in the morning…heck, I'm not even motivated to get motivated…

  • This man emits so much energy, he is the impersonation of his own speech. Very convincing.

  • Amazing talk!

  • Wow. The poem😩

  • Fantastic video

  • Such an amazing speaker.

  • Please russian subtitles

  • "Because we want to" This kind of unclear talking

  • Great stuff. I think my favorite "C" word was community. It truly is critical. Just take a second to think about the actual impact of what having a sense of community does. Accountability, inspiration, motivation. Everyone wants to belong to a supportive community that share your interest and passions. We really do need each other and have to have each others backs for all of the reasons that Scott talks about.

  • You are Awesome, thank god for people like you !!!

  • you are one of the most exciting, entertaining and engaging, speakers with brilliant and beautiful information, that I absolutely agree with 120% !! You are AMAZING !!

  • Scott Geller You are remembered till eternity. Good work!

  • Actually… the teacher unknowingly wanted him to practice what is called a "buzz stroke roll" or a "multiple bounce roll"… what he ended up teaching himself was, the beginning of a double stroke roll, then it turned into a buzz stroke roll… what an awful teacher lol, Though im sure he meant well (: as a drummer it pains me to see people practice the wrong thing.. rant over

  • Simply great 🙂

  • What a great speaker! I love how he used the drum on stage as a tool to get his message across. Near perfect TED talk 🙂
