  • not enough individuation in US [hence trump]

I've had some pretty profound experiences lately, and this is one of those video's that has just happened to come at the exact right time for me.
Thank you for making this video and sharing some beautiful insights.

  • “I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.”
    ― Hunter S. Thompson

  • “Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
― Hunter S. Thompson, The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967

  • Wow

  • "A million zeros joined together do not, unfortunately, add up to one." Wow. Stopped me dead in my tracks.

  • what did jung mean by "a million zeroes joined together do not, unfortunately, add up to one"

  • carl jung was simply a genuis. thank you for the great Video. you got a new faithful subscriber

  • yeah and the "Self" is not separate, so go figure, something like community and individual seem diametrically opposed but one truly is the gate way to the other, so you need the freedom of finding yourself before assimilating into community..inner work is the key so we just dont project and blame, this process will cultivate humility..

  • Carl Jung endorsed Bernie Sanders.

  • you are saving my education. My 10 am exam tomorrow thanks you.

  • At 8:50, I had to think about the lyrics in Let it Be
"When I find myself in times of trouble, mother Mary comes to me…."

Am I getting it right, that this is about the female archetype?

  • Keep it up with the good content!

  • It seems that my journey has lead me to the Individuation aspect for my life. I know there are wise and loving nuggets in Jung's teachings which would accompany me as I go toward Individuation. However, I admit that these teachings are difficult for me to grasp. I require multiple viewings of videos such as these in order to scratch the surface. Your book recommendations might be helpful, but I wonder if they are too philosophical in nature, thus rendering the content a challenge for me to understand. Your videos are wonderfully encouraging. The reader's voice is perfect in tone, pitch, and pacing. If you have any recommendations for accessing "Jung for Dummies" I'm willing to investigate them.

  • I'm here from SMT persona 😉

  • An amazing series, and channel in general, that is bringing to all of us a realm of thought that is missing non-academic exposure. these videos are huge because they present the information in a way that people can discuss in more accessible and casual manners without oversimplifying to meaningless tropes. A+ work guys

  • I came here from "weird facts in Persona".

  • WHAT does it mean for the unconscious mind to become obsessed with thoughts of death, fear, limitations and projections of a dark world? Why does it want so much power?

  • Jung should be standardised teaching in the education system to free us of the false teachings of anti indoeuropean ideology.

  • forty six and 2!!

  • Shadow @ 5:37

  • I've never identified with my persona.

  • I'm a simple man. I see Carl Jung and I click.

  • that was really instructive. this makes me think about the Heroes Journey of Campbell

  • It's amazing how much of Nietzsche one can infer from the writings and thought of Jung. You would think that he has studied the writing of the philosopher?

  • Good presentation of Jung's ideas. Thanks for posting.

  • Best books on this specific subject?

  • The point about the lack of individuation leading to the rise of tyranny is a particularly poignant one, and perhaps one that we are witnessing at this moment.

The growth of differing and clashing political masses does not bode well for the near future.

  • The end of this video reminds me of Trump voters

  • Is individuation even possible ? I like these categories and steps outlined by Yung, but I wonder if the self as a whole and seperate goal is even obtainable.

  • it's "all" here

  • Great content! Thank you so much

  • i am so glad i found this channel

  • why do only have two consciesenessessess? why not a million? why do we have sub consciousness ess? why is there an inside? an outside? how can we. know what we are talking about if we dont first know why there is multi consciousnesses in a single person? why do we think? theres like two planes, one we hear see and feel, and the othe one everyone else does. hmm…maybe its because we ARE two people in one body. a left and right. female and male. and those two separate entities are communicating icating with each other inside the mind. what we call the shadow is the person less expressed in reality-the part less visible. duh, we are endless combinations of male and female…

  • he is saying " the most revolutionary thing you can do is be yourself "

  • What do you use to animate/edit your videos?

  • awesome bro

  • Something I noticed in SMT Persona series.

  • I hate that I'm not smart enough to read comments and comprehend the video at the same time.

  • If Jung were an American he would of been a constitutional conservative.

  • Psychedelic drugs function as a highway leading straight to the unconscious. Current laws are not exactly doing the field of psychology a favor on that area, and it's a great shame these tools are kept away from throughout scientific investigation and trial.

  • J H

Blaine "Maybe I don't need a new friend"
Jacey "Maybe you're the only friend I need"
    Blaine "Need, or want?"
Jacey "I never been much for wanting"
Blaine "Spoken like someone with needs"
Jacey reaches out and touches his face, it's clear she needs what he wants, she's a woman, he's a man. The city burns in the background as he takes her in his arms Fade out Title-The End

  • Lol all Americans should have to watch this

  • Hey! Great work, but do you have all the references from which you took all the info? That'd be great so we can dig more about this (specially the cited text) 🙂

  • This is very informative. Thanks. Also, I am a shadow. The true self.
