  • Interesting old doco. Its a shame people can't be helped without strong addictive drugs.
And the fact these homeless people get pushed out once "balanced" on the drugs again.
That poor black man said he was glad to be back, it felt like home. That was sad.

  • Mental illness doesn't exist when a person can use their brain even if a machine proves the brain functions differently.

  • Very skeptical about the efficacy of many of these so called professionals to help anyone…

  • Most of us cannot afford the help we need and the system is overloaded.

  • Who is mad in this documentary?

  • no one should expect help from anyone if its offered take it but do not go asking for it. ive been mentally troubled for years iv started finding myself and evaluating my self realistically of course.. though youtube and various ''therapists'' channels

  • These voices are the person themselves. There memories and neuronal activities. Calming the mind may help with self mind control. The negativity is just a product of emotional state. One would need self control, to stop the thought process if it is out of control. If the mind cannot be controlled the subconscious will take over. the id, the primitive survival processes, the illogical thinking. Just the randomness of neural activity.
If so meditation and mindfulness would need to be a coping strategy. I am for psychology not psychiatry. Medication should only be needed to help momentarily. If one can calm the racing thoughts, one can self talk efficiently. Asking the right questions. Asking and noticing why those thoughts are present and what they can do about it to ease the mind/themselves. Ridding thoughts altogether with meditation seems more beneficial.

  • I feel bad for the foreign girl. She's so pretty and seems so sweet. This documentary seems pretty old I hope she found happiness.

  • Wonder where Chris is today?

  • Very amazing! I love the older documentaries for some reason, partly because we have come so far in better understanding the conditions.

  • interesting documentary . i know it is old but it is still good
