A Beautiful Mind (2001)
Dr. John Forbes Nash, Jr. is an American mathematician who won the Nobel Prize for his game theory (Economic Sciences). His ideas proved ground-breaking in artificial intelligence, evolutionary biology, market economics, computing, military theory and politics. He completed his PhD dissertation consisting of only 28 pages.
Nash was diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia when he was teaching at MIT. He used to experience auditory hallucinations making him believe in the existence of two persons who were a danger to him. He took all people wearing red ties as members of a communist group which was against him. Apart from these, he exhibited delusions of reference, lack of motivation in life and clinical depression.
In the academy award winning movie “A Beautiful Mind” actor Russell Crowe portrayed Nash, where contrary to the reality, the movie shows Nash experiencing visual hallucinations.
